This vignette illustrates the composite experience of multiple systems we studied and tells the story of the framework through one district’s journey. Think of this as a case study, and use it to help you understand what the work will look like at different phases. Every district will have a different context and unique journey but we hope this vignette can depict one approach and the thinking at play in some of the key decisions.


The District Vignette focuses primarily on the experiences of the leaders involved in making decisions and managing the curriculum selection, preparation, and support processes. While the leader perspective is critical, our work has shown that the leaders who really try to put themselves in the shoes of teachers are the ones who have the most success. That is what this vignette seeks to do.
